2 hours credit This course is designed to help the student recognize personal strengths and support systems that will contribute to the students success. The student is introduced to language and math skills necessary for the nursing program and introduced to foundations of medical and nursing terminology. Study skills, test taking skills and time management skills are discussed and evaluated as an essential component for the nursing program. Stress reduction techniques are discussed along with identifying the various college resources available throughout the nursing program. Introduction to the nursing process is presented. Prerequisite: The student who enrolls in this course is planning to enter or has entered the Kansas City Kansas Community College nursing program
