3 hours credit This course is designed to acquaint students with the development and practice of Mathematics in ancient, medieval, and modern times. This worldwide multicultural development will then be brought up to date with the students' exposure to current thought and philosophy in Mathematics as well as the technology that has revolutionized our modern world. Prerequisite: MATH-0105, College Algebra, or Bachelor's or higher Degree. Mandatory placement for first time college students or first time math students is based on the ACCUPLACER Elementary Algebra test. The following scores determine placement in math courses: 0-30 MATH-0097 Math Essentials 31-70 71-99 100-120 MATH-0099 Elementary Algebra MATH-0104 Intermediate Algebra Enrollment is open First-time college students who have taken the ACT or SAT within the last024 months may be exempt from taking the placement evaluation in Math if their score is ACT 23/SAT 575 or higher in math.
