1 hour credit This course is designed for students with limited or no background in the use of the TI-83 or 84 Plus graphing calculator. The purpose of this course is to prepare the student for success in such math courses as Intermediate Algebra (MATH-0104), College Algebra (MATH-0105), and beyond. The course will also benefit students enrolled in any of the science courses. Prerequisite(s): Grade of "C" or higher inMATH-0099, Elementary Algebra Mandatory placement for first time college students or first time math students is based on the ACCUPLACER Elementary Algebra test. The following scores determine placement in math courses: 0-31 MATH-0097 Math Essentials 31-71 MATH-0099 Elementary Algebra 71-100 100-120 Enrollment is open MATH-0104 Intermediate Algebra First-time college students who have taken the ACT or SAT within the last 24 months may be exempt from taking the placement evaluation in Math if their score is ACT 23/SAT 575 or higher in math.
