3 hours credit The course is designed for students who need Statistics for their curriculum studies. The content includes the for the study of basic descriptive statistics, introduction to probability, random variables, special probability functions, random sampling and sampling theory, estimating the mean, hypothesis tests, and linear regression. Students will be expected to use appropriate technology as one tool to achieve competency in Statistics. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or higher in MATH-0105College Algebra or MATH-0108, Pre-Calculus Mathematics. Mandatory placement for first time college students or first time math students is based on the ACCUPLACER Elementary Algebra test. The following scores determine placement in math courses: 204 0-30 MATH-0097 Math Essentials 31-70 71-99 100-120 MATH-0099 Elementary Algebra MATH-0104 Intermediate Algebra Enrollment is open First-time college students who have taken the ACT or SAT within the last 24 months may be exempt from taking the placement evaluation in Math if their score is ACT 23/SAT 575 or higher in math.
