3 hours credit This course continues the study of the real number system. Topics studied will include a review of basic algebra, factoring, functions and graphs, rational expressions and equations, radicals and complex numbers, quadratic functions and equations, and an introduction to logarithmic functions. Students will be expected to use appropriate technology as one tool to achieve competency in Intermediate Algebra. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in MATH-0099 Elementary Algebra.Read ACCUPLACER score of 60 or better. Mandatory placement for first time college students or first time math students is based on the ACCUPLACER Elementary Algebra test: The following scores determine placement: 0-30 MATH-0097 Math Essentials 31-70 MATH-0099 Elementary Algebra 71-99 MATH-0104 Intermediate Algebra 100-120 Enrollment is Open First-time college students who have taken the ACT or SAT within the last 24 months may be exempt from taking the placement evaluation in Math if their score is ACT 23/SAT 575 or higher in math.
