3 hours credit The course is a general introduction to the discipline of Geography and it is designed to familiarize students with the basic concepts, theories, traditions and techniques in geography. They will be utilized to study various regions of the world in terms of their cultural characteristics, cultural integration, ethnic/racial composition, natural and human resources, ecology, diffusion, development, population and environmental influences, conflict and war. Cultural diversity is a major theme with an emphasis upon the planet earth as an ecosystem with interdependence among humans as well as between humans and their environment.
