5 hours credit This course introduces and surveys the field of organic chemistry. Major types of aliphatic and aromatic compounds are surveyed as to naming, structure's preparations, and reactions. The laboratory portion emphasizes modern techniques of organic chemistry. Three lectures and four laboratory/discussion hours per week are required. Prerequisite: General Chemistry, CHEM-0109 or College Chemistry I and Lab, CHEM-0111.
