Prerequisites: BIOL 144 and KMRT 202 and KMRT 210 or BIOL 144 and concurrent enrollment in KMRT 202 and KMRT 210 Supervised learning experience in a medical records department under the direction of a credentialed professional involving a variety of procedures including coding and abstracting health information, medical transcription, and release of information. Supervised discussion of clinical experiences. 1 hr. lab, 3 hrs. field studies/wk. Course taught at MCC-Penn Valley Community College.
