Prerequisite: Must possess current esthetics license granted by the Kansas Board of Cosmetology, a current cosmetology license, or the minimum of 500 hours of esthetics training from another institution. This 100-contact-hour course is designed to meet the education requirements for licensure by the Missouri Board of Cosmetology for estheticians in the cosmetology sciences and meet the needs of students who desire exposure to advanced esthetics techniques. Students will attend 44 hours of lecture/demonstration, practice 48 hours of integrated lecture/clinical, and participate in eight hours of community service. Topics covered include body treatments, theory on the day spa, airbrush makeup, microdermabrasion and manual lymphatic drainage. In-state tuition is $1,100. Enrollment in certain courses may require a professional liability fee of $16.00.
