Prerequisite: FL 171 or two years of high school Japanese and approval of the instructor This course continues the study of Japanese language and culture, emphasizing the sounds, vocabulary, grammar, usage and readings of the Japanese language. The course concentrates on developing further advanced conversational skills by increasing vocabulary and variety of sentence patterns. Cultural understanding will also be stressed. This course is typically taught in the fall semester. 5 hrs. lecture/wk.
