Prerequisite: ELEC 225 This course provides students with a basic knowledge of microprocessors and how microprocessors interface with other devices to create microcomputer systems. Students will learn how to write assembly language and machine language programs for a microprocessor as well as how to interface memory, input devices and output devices to a microprocessor. Additionally, emphasis will be placed on learning how to troubleshoot microprocessor-based systems. 2 hrs. lecture, 3 hrs. lab/wk.
