Prerequisite or corequisite: AUTO 125 or approval of program administrator Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to service starting and charging system components; describe the operation and construction of starters, alternators and controlling devices; describe various lighting systems used in current automotive vehicles; and repair electrical lighting and accessory systems. The student will be required to provide ANSI Z87 safety glasses and may be expected to provide other basic hand tools and/or equipment. 3 hrs. lecture, 3 hrs. lab/wk. This course is taught in the fall semester. Associated Costs: In addition to the course tuition, fees, and textbooks, this course has additional expense considerations that are estimated to be $0 to $300.
