This course includes theory and application to include principles, testing, and pathological states in immunology, and parasitology. This course covers an overview of the proper collection of parasitology specimens, identification of blood parasites, intestinal protozoa, human round worms, and flat worms, including life cycles and infective stages as well as the theory of the immune process and antigen/antibody reactions and their applications to diagnostic serological testing.. Upon completion of this course, the student understands the clinical roles these areas play in the treatment of patients. Prerequisites: Grade of "C" or better in all previous MLT courses andcompletion of MLT 1003.
