This course explains the role of the nurse in meeting the physiologic, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the elderly. Course content includes the normal aging process, effects of aging on the body, physiologic, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the elderly, effects of medications in the elderly, and leadership and management skills of the nurse. The concepts from Basic Nursing will be integrated in this course. Pre or co-requisites: BIOL 1434 or 2214 and 2224. Co-requisites: PN 1002, 1003, 1004, 1010.
