This course includes the topics of rotary and linear motion mechanisms, gears, trains, belts, linkages, bearings, mechanical troubleshooting, drive elements, machinery safety requirements, electromechanical systems, and machine controls with an emphasis on selecting appropriate gears, gear configuration, and motor to match the power requirements of an electromechanical system. Pre or co-requisite: MAT 1001 and 1002 or higher.
