This course is recommended for students who want to increase their knowledge of words. It emphasizes the development of vocabulary through the use of context clues, affixes and roots, and the dictionary. This course is designed for students whose reading skills are below college level. Students complete course assignments (readings, workbook pages, computer modules, etc.) on their own with the assistance from the lab instructor or assistants. This course may be individually arranged to accommodate the student's regular class schedule. Most of the course work is completed in the lab with a minimal amount of take-home work. This course is held in the College Preparatory Lab in the Learning Assistance Center.
