Both courses are designed for students beginning their study of the language. Each stresses, by means of classroom recitation and laboratory periods with recordings, the basic vocabulary and grammatical structures that will enable the student to speak, read, and write Spanish. In addition, students will learn something about the culture of which the Spanish language is an integral part. FL 1303 Beginning Spanish with a "C" orhigher is a prerequisite to Intermediate Spanish unless permission of the instructor is obtained.
