FA 1203-1213 - Film Classics I & II

Institution:
North Arkansas College
Subject:
Description:
The first semester introduces the student to film as an art form, concentrating largely on cinematic treatments of literary and dramatic works, but including other notable films as well. The second semester places heavy emphasis on stories, characters, and themes having to do with aspects of the humanities; namely art, philosophy, architecture, music, literature, drama, and other facets of our culture and our civilization as they are dealt with on film. Taking both 1203 and 1213 satisfies 6 hours of the Humanities requirements. Since Film Classics I is not a prerequisite of Film Classics II, these may be taken in any order.
