This course introduces the student to the theory and operation of modern suspension and steering systems. The study of the suspension system includes wheels and tires, hubs, bearings, seals, springs, and the vehicle frame. Various designs and construction of each of these components will be covered. Suspension and steering systems start with the basic theory of steering geometry and all of the related factors. Wheel alignment of both front and rear wheels and the construction and operation of the various manual and power steering components is included. Prerequisites: AST 1604.
