Understanding the source message when it is in English is a crucial skill, often overlooked in interpreter education. This course will help future interpreters develop skills in finding the main points in English, outlining, abstracting, predicting, finding keywords and prepositions and text analysis. Also included will be exercises on figurative language, metaphors and similes. The exercises in this course deal with English only and no sign language skills are required. This course will be scheduled as a five week course. Prerequisites SLIS 2270
