This course gives students a foundation into the federal and state laws of the medical profession and ethical issues associated with working in a healthcare setting. HIPAA regulations are explored in detail. Topics include professional, social, and interpersonal healthcare issues. Coverage also includes identification of measures to promote confidentiality as major changes in electronic health record (EHR) technology occur. Investigation of techniques to maintain office safety, as well as the safety and confidentiality of patients and medical records, is also included. Course is offered On-line and as a Hybrid
