This course discusses the counseling implications for cultural, social and economic factors as they affect diverse groups including African-Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics and others. Attention is paid to multi-cultural barriers and to the impact of the counselor's own worldview on the counseling relationship. Adaptation of counseling techniques and theories to the needs of minority clients are examined. Prerequisites English Level II and HMSV 1130 (or concurrent enrollment in HMSV 1130)
