Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to apply the theory, concepts, and basic understanding of insurance practices and procedures. Ares of emphasis include fire, accident, theft, property damage, liability insurance and the legal environment of insurance products. The student is also introduced to the basic concepts of product design, underwriting, pricing, marketing and claim administration skills involving suppression materials, tools, equipment, procedures, general laws and regulations. Interpersonal and teamwork skills along with appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the organization/industry will be stressed.
