This course covers civil drafting techniques and computer aided design methods using AutoCAD software. The student learns drawing terminology, drawing creation and editing, file manipulation and plotting. The student is introduced to mapping in general, surveying concepts, location and direction, scales, symbols and the US Public Land Survey System. The course also includes an introduction to COGO, surface modeling, data transfer, legal descriptions and plot plans, contour lines, profiles, highway layout and earthwork.
