This course promotes professionalism in law enforcement. It focuses primarily on such topics as use of force, unknown risk and high-risk traffic stops, use of weapons, self-defense, defensive driving, recognition of explosives, and patrol procedures. It includes among other pertinent topics, Nebraska crime law statistics and rules of the road including traffic infractions and traffic misdemeanors. The course involves physically stressful exercises. This course is held at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island and may involve special tuition and supplies expenses.
