(4 class hrs/wk, 4 credits) Sp One of three courses in the mathematics cluster for prospective elementary and middle school teachers. Develops the understanding of basic mathematical concepts necessary for teaching mathematics in grades K-8. Covers basic geometry topics including shapes and their properties; symmetry; angle measure; measurement of length, area and volume; congruence and similarity; Pythagorean Theorem; and coordinate geometry. Prerequisite: MTH 095 Intermediate Algebra and MTH 097 Practical Geometry or equivalent.
