(4 class hrs/wk, 3 cr) W An introduction to the essential soil nutrients and their use in agronomic and horticultural crops. Processes in the soil nutrient supply and plant nutrient uptake are discussed. Students become familiar with common synthetic and organic fertilizers and soil amendments and learn how to apply fertilizers using various application methods. Environmentally sound use and holistic management of agricultural nutrients are emphasized.
