(7 class hrs/wk, 4 cr) F The first course of a four-part sequence in a Cisco curriculum directed toward the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification (CCNA). Provides students with classroom and laboratory experience in current networking technology, and includes network terminology, protocols, network standards, LANs, WANs, OSI model, cabling, cabling tools, safety, network topology, and IP addressing. Corequisites: CIS 125 Introduction to Software Applications or equivalent computer experience as determined by a Computer Systems advisor, and MTH 095 Intermediate Algebra.
