Description:
This is the first course of a two-semester sequence in calculus-based physics with a laboratory component. Students apply knowledge and problem solving skills in classical mechanics, gravitation and mechanical waves. This course is intended primarily for engineering, physical science, computer science, and mathematics students. Typically offered fall semester only. Students receiving credit for PHYS 1310 cannot receive credit for PHYS 1050 or PHYS 1110. Prerequisites: Completion of MATH 2200 and concurrent enrollment in MATH 2205 (or equivalent placement test scores).
