This course explores management and leadership principles as they apply to the practice of nursing, as well as discussion of legal and ethical principles and their effects on health care delivery. Students investigate societal issues and trends affecting nursing practice and health care delivery. This course also introduces fundamental elements of the transition from student to practitioner. Student participation is emphasized through discussion, written work and individualized and group projects. One theory hour. One semester hour credit. Prerequisite: NUR 1129 and NUR 1121.
