A course to provide skills in using the Global Positioning System (GPS) to collect and process locational data for the purpose of navigation, acreage determination, developing property maps, digitizing stand maps and other applications in forestry. GPS will be used as the primary data source for Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The course will include using remote sensing, interpretation and application of aerial photos and other remotely sensed images in forestry. Two lecture hours. Two lab hours. Three semester hours credit.
