Three hours lecture plus laboratory. A detailed study of basic principles of chemistry including atomic structure and bonding, inorganic nomenclature, stoichiometry, states of matter, and solutions. Emphasis placed on quantitative relationships. Recommended for those who have a background of high school chemistry and for those who are enrolled as pre-engineers or science majors. Prerequisite: College Algebra MAT1023or General Chemistry PHS1015).
