THTRE 222 - The Actor at Work

Prerequisite: THTRE 122 or department approval This is a performance course. In this course the student-actor concentrates on the development of character and the perfection of technique, moving from the improvisation to the script and from the exercise space to the stage. Upon completion of this course a student should: (1) recognize the importance of the script and interpretive use of it, (2) understand and practice methods for the physicalization of psychological actions, and (3) expand his knowledge as well as perfect his technique in various methods of working as an actor. A considerable amount of time will be spent in scene work. [IAI: TA 91]
