Prerequisite: None This course introduces basic knowledge of conversational Kiswahili. Emphasis is on pronunciation and simple, useful Kiswahili vocabulary and conversation. The course introduces Swahili customs and culture as well as the history of Kiswahili characters and the Swahili people along the coast of Eastern Africa. This course is usually taught in eight two-hour sessions.
