Prerequisite: PHYS 211, MATH 223 and credit or concurrent enrollment in MATH 224 This course is a continuation of PHYS 211 and is a study of electricity, magnetism, and geometric optics for students majoring in engineering, mathematics, physics, or chemistry. Topics will include Coulomb's Law; electric fields and potential; resistance, capacitance, and inductance; DC and AC circuits; magnetic forces and fields; Laws of Gauss, Ampere, and Faraday; Maxwell's equations and electromagnetic waves; geometrical optics and polarization.
