This course provides students with a primer on the basic elements of design such as typography (text and display sizes), images, principles of color theory and layout. Students will learn important design techniques, visual thinking, concept development, and composition. By the end of the course, students will be able to create clear, intelligent and powerful graphic communication for both the web and print media using Swish, a Macromedia Flash WYSIWYG vector based animation tool software. Prerequisite: CS 232
