Prerequisite or Corequisite: ENG 22 OR placement in ENG 100 This course begins with a survey of the history and contemporary issues and trends in early literacy development. It includes an in-depth exploration of how young children learn to read and write and what teachers and caregivers need to know and be able to do to support literacy development from birth through the primary years.
