Prerequisite: ENG 22/60 OR placement in ENG 100; MATH 20E & F & G OR placement in MATH 25 A broad introduction to understanding the functioning of economic systems and the problems of national economic performance in the United States. The problems of resource allocation in a market economy are also considered. Maximum of 6 credits transferable to UH Manoa for any 2 of the following 3 courses: ECON 120, 130, 131. Note: This course does not satisfy requirements for Economics or Business majors at UH Manoa. (3 hrs. lect. per week)
