Prerequisite or Corequisite: ENG 22/60 OR placement in ENG 100 Provides an overview of the basic skills needed for working with infants and toddlers their families in group care settings. The course focuses on the pivotal role of the family in supporting each child's individual development and includes strategies for promoting strong relationships between caregivers and families. Knowledge of development of very young children, infant-toddler caregiving routines, caregiver practices that enrich experiences, and caregiver roles are emphasized. May be taken on a CR/N basis. (3 hrs. lect. per week)
