Instructor approval required. AMT majors only. This course will provide students with the opportunity to acquire on-the-job experience related to classroom and laboratory instruction in Automotive Mechanics Technology. Students may enroll 4 times for credit up to a maximum of 12 credits. (5 hrs. work experience per week per credit.) See Commercial Aviation The Aviation Maintenance courses (50, 52, & 53) are intended for those individuals who have qualified to take the General, Airframe and/or Powerplant written tests as authorized by Federal Aviation Regulation Part 65.77 experience requirements. These courses do not apply towards certification under Part 147 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Refer to the section titled AERONAUTICS MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY (AERO) for the courses required for Part 147 certification of aircraft maintenance technicians. These are survey courses for experienced uncertified aircraft technicians intended to increase their theoretical and practical understanding of the subjects listed in the course descriptions prior to taking the written and practical exams. The courses may also be beneficial to those individuals planning to enter the Part 147 program and other individuals interested in aircraft maintenance technologies.
