(T) *COURSE DATA: CREDITS: 3 LECTURE: 1 LAB: 10 REPEAT: 1 PREREQUISITE: Cconsent of instructor Provides for undergraduate practicum in social welfare with the student working a minimum of 40 hours - less consultation hours - per semester in an assigned social agency. In consultation with the instructor the student will have a wide array of human and social services agencies from which to choose. This course offers the student the opportunity to combine reading and research with practical experience in a social service setting. The course examines the history, functioning, and skill requirements associated with the agency the student has selected in consultation with the instructor. The experience allows the student to better identify agency operations and recognize career options and working conditions.
