(5 Hours) Prerequisite: High School Chemistry recommended and MAT103 Intermediate Algebra. This course is a college level introduction to chemistry. It is designed for those students interested in a deeper knowledge of chemistry and whose field requires 10 credit hours of beginning chemistry. Emphasis will be placed on the study of inorganic compounds, their uses and reactions. Concepts include basic chemical concepts, calculations with chemical formulas and equations, chemical reactions, thermochemis- try, modern theory of the atom and electronic structure, and chemical periodicity.
