Covers the effective administration of a UNIX system. Discussion is provided on the internals of the UNIX Operating System. Laboratory exercises include system start-up and shutdown, file system management, adding and configuring backups and restorations, device management, system security, and system accounting. Each student is required to complete successfully a series of comprehensive exercises to demonstrate proficiency in system administration. Prerequisites: CIS 125 and CIS 129
