(2 Credit Hours) An advanced course in which the student studies the application of the principles of diagnosing, locating, and correcting trouble encountered in automotive service, using various types of testing equipment. Engine diagnosis will include variable cam timing and variable displacement engine systems. Electrical diagnosis will include computer-controlled charging systems, battery and starting systems, including one-touch and remote-start systems. Fuel system diagnosis will include pressure and injector tests using active commands and relative flow analysis. Problems that occur in the servicing of the modern automobile are presented throughout this course. Prerequisites: AUTO 100, AUTO 110, AUTO 120 or permission of the instructor
