Lecture, discussion and laboratory work on the principles involved in general chemistry with special emphasis on mathematical relationships. Class involves 3 hours of lecture and 3 hours of lab. Students planning majors in most science related fields should enroll in this class. Topics include measurement systems, stoichiometry, atomic and molecular structure, chemical behavior, physical states, solutions, acid/base chemistry, gas laws, oxidation/reductionchemistry, andthermochemistry. Students will need good background in high school chemistry and algebra. Prerequisite: MAT1073 Intermedate Algebra with grade of Cor better NOTE: Most colleges will transfer chemistry credit for either CHE 1015 or CHE 1095 but not both. Students who take both of these should remember that CHE 1095 will be transferred as an elective and will not count toward the required number of hours in chemistry.
