This course is designed to provide students with firsthand experience in newsgathering and reporting techniques. Students will have the opportunity to learn newsroom terminology, news judgment, legal and ethical issues, style writing, coverage of beats, and write various types of stories under deadline pressure. Typing proficiency highly suggested. Above-average writing ability is suggested.
