Available: summer 4 Cr. Hrs This course is offered as an opportunity for the newly graduated professional nurse to gain experience in the actual acute care setting. Students will work with a preceptor in the hospital gaining experience in physical assessment, nursing skills, management of complex patient groups, delegation and communication techniques. A required weekly seminar will involve topics identified by the graduate nurse, the preceptor, and the instructor. This course is not intended to be a refresher course for inactive nurses who wish to reenter the nursing profession. Each student is required to possess a valid and unencumbered temporary license to practice professional nursing in Idaho. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
