Available: fall, spring, summer 5 Cr. Hrs A systematic treatment of chemical principles and their application. Topics include nomenclature, periodicity, reactions, equations, stoichiometry, solutions, gases, and introduction to the theories of the atom, equilibria, acidbases, redox, and radioactivity. This course is suggested for students who have not taken high school chemistry. CHEM 190 is recommended to be taken concurrently as a review of math skills. Corequisites: CHEM 190, MATH 108 or higher, or satisfactory score on the COMPASS test, and CHEM 101L.
