Tis course is designed to provide clinical training and the application of principles required for infection prevention and control in the sterile processing department in a health care facility. Tis course will ofer clinical experience in cleaning, disinfecting, decontamina- tion, sterilization, Standard precautions, and Universal precautions. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Completion of English 101, and Consent Department Chairperson, and co-enrollment in Sterile Technology 216 with a grade of C grade or better. 12 lab hours per week. 4 credit hours.
