Students on site in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology will, under supervision, participate in patient care activities with emphasis during this rotation on patients who have reproductive tract abnormalities and to those involved with normal or complicated pregnancies. Students will be assigned patients for medical history review, physical examination and diagnostic testing in preparation for a supportive role during labor and delivery or gynecologic surgery. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Admission into the Physician Assistant program/plan 262. 2 lecture and 5 lab hours per week. 3 credit hours.
